What we do

 新中茶文化交流促进联合总会宗旨

NZ Federation Chinese Tea Culture Incorporated will follow the ideals of the “Fu Tea Station” and aims to promote Chinese tea culture, enhance global awareness of the profound history, rich culture, and economic value of tea. We do this through the following:

Promotion of Harmony and Balance

Chinese tea culture is deeply rooted in the philosophy of yin and yang, which emphasizes balance and harmony.  The act of sharing tea encourages open dialogue, and helps to bring people together, bridging cultural and generational gaps.

Cultivating Mindfulness and Self-Reflection

Preparing and drinking tea is often regarded as a form of meditation, promoting mindfulness and presence. The practice fosters a reflective and peaceful community atmosphere, enhancing connections between individuals and themselves.

Encouraging Social Cohesion

Chinese tea ceremonies provide a shared experience that bonds people together. Participating in these rituals helps reinforce a sense of belonging and community.  Historically, tea houses in China have served as community centres where people gather to socialize, discuss ideas, and support one another.

Connecting with Nature

Chinese tea culture emphasizes the importance of living in harmony with nature. This philosophy encourages people to value and protect their natural environment, fostering a sense of stewardship and sustainability.  The appreciation of seasonal changes in tea cultivation and consumption teaches communities to live in sync with nature’s rhythms, promoting environmental consciousness and respect.

Global Influence and Cultural Exchange

Chinese tea culture has influenced communities worldwide, promoting exchange and understanding. The global appreciation of tea fosters a sense of community, where diverse cultures come together over a shared appreciation for this ancient practice.
